by admin on Feb.28, 2010, under Be the Expert
Antonio Graceffo reports from the Bokator school, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia: An official delegation arrived in Phnom Penh, from France, to sign the documentation to create the French Kun Khmer/Bokator association which is the first one in Europe. The group represented both the French Kun Khmer and French Muay Thai associations. This historic event has come only weeks after UNESCO in conjunction with the world Martial Arts Association recognize the Bokator of Grand Master San Kim Saen as the official martial art of Cambodia and a world cultural heritage.

amazing demo! Well, I don’t know about 10,000 techniques. This is what Khmer masters in many art keep saying. It not really a realistic number, Khmer culture sometimes emphasised the idea of countless with the term “rop sen” meaning many of ten thousands. I think it more used in that conotation an emphasis on the flexibility and countless style and technique of the art. But indeed, Bokator is an art of many faces, since it was developed over thousand years go.
